5 Reasons to Use Digital Signage in Manufacturing Facilities

Make better changes in your workplace.

Like any other workplace, manufacturing facilities need to work as a cohesive unit to achieve company goals. However, unlike regular offices with employees working in front of computers, employees in these facilities are on their toes working at assembly lines or operating heavy machinery. They are not the types to sit and be able to hear an instant message or notification informing them of meetings and requests.

This makes manufacturing facilities the perfect places to have digital signages like scrolling LED sign displays or programmable screens. They have plenty of uses, some of which we have listed down below.

For safety alerts and reminders

Accidents can happen, especially in such types of workplaces. To avoid them, companies implement safety procedures that everyone in the work area should follow. In order for them not to be missed, safety reminders can be displayed on digital LED screens around the facility. This also includes reminders on the need to perform health and sanitization measures before entering the work area. Likewise, in cases of production problems like stalled operations and bottlenecks down the line, the same screens can be tapped to alert the people concerned.

For transmission of internal company communications

As previously mentioned, employees in the work area can’t be reached through pings and messaging alerts coming from a phone or computer. In fact, with the type of job they’re doing their focus must zero in on the work on hand to prevent build-up or accidents so having distracting communication devices is discouraged. But what if there need to be announcements that need to be delivered? Programmable LED signs can do the job just fine. Because they are easily customized, these digital signages can be used to announce anything from emergency meetings, company or employee achievements, new policies, or even the day-to-day menu of the company cafeteria.

For wayfinding purposes

Manufacturing staff needs to act fast and to do this they must not where they must go when called upon. With factories abuzz with activity, sounds, and machines, new (and even old) employees may have trouble finding their way through the maze. Having maps and signages that point in the right direction resolves this issue.

For keeping track of output

Facilities normally have target quotas each day. In this regard, digital signages can be used to monitor production numbers and targets met. In cases of exceptional work (targets exceeded, new milestones) the same screens can be used to make announcements of the good news.

For boosting company morale

As a way to boost employee morale, companies can also use signages to post motivational statements to their employees. Non-work related events such as team-building exercises can also be prompted on such devices.
